A student who's stuck on one particular idea can ask the same question phrased five different ways until it finally clicks, with no worry about slowing down twenty-nine other classmates while they do it.
This is a real, meaningful shift, not a small one. It doesn't replace what a good, caring, in-person teacher does — but it can genuinely help close a gap that's existed in education for as long as classrooms have existed: the gap between what one teacher can give thirty different children at once, and what each of those children individually actually needs to truly understand something.
It's worth being honest and specific here: the real, studied benefit is patience and pace, not motivation or connection. A tool can explain the same idea as many times as it takes, without ever getting frustrated. It cannot make a genuinely disengaged student actually want to learn in the first place — that part of teaching remains a deeply human job, and probably always will.

A tool can explain a concept patiently, correctly, and endlessly. What it genuinely struggles to do is notice, the way a real, attentive teacher can, that a specific student isn't just confused today — they're quietly struggling with something happening at home, and the confusion in class is really about that instead. A real teacher, present in a real room with real children over real time, builds a kind of understanding of a student that goes well beyond their test scores or their specific gaps in a subject.
That part of teaching was never really about delivering information efficiently in the first place. It was always about a real, attentive adult genuinely caring whether a specific child succeeds, and knowing them well enough to notice when something beyond the lesson itself is actually going on. No tool, however patient or well-designed, replaces that. The oldest, most honest goal of education — helping each child reach their own potential, on their own real timeline — is exactly the same goal it's always been. What's changing is simply how much real, practical help teachers finally have in actually reaching it.
